AUTOMATED TOOLPATH GENERATION AND DEPOSIT SIMULATION FOR ENHANCED DEPOSITION AND REPAIR
Objective
- Quantification of deposit geometry as a function of input variables
- Development of the geometrical model of CS deposition
- Integration of the geometrical model with robot toolpath generation
- Comparison of properties and/or microstructure of repaired components generated using different geometric strategies
Expected Results
- Validated geometric model of CS deposition capable of providing predictive capability for one alloy system
- Methodology and procedure for generating minimum data requirements for calibration of model for general alloy deposition
- Demonstration of automated component repair with a) improved consumable usage, b) minimized post-deposition machining and c) enhanced deposit mechanical/microstructural performance, compared with manual/simple deposition strategy
