Tanvir Hussain

Tanvir Hussain is a Professor of Coatings and Surface Engineering at the University of Nottingham, UK and an EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) Research Fellow. He is particularly interested in the fundamental science of deformation and metallurgy of aluminium, titanium and nickel based alloys in cold spray. Processing-microstructure-properties relationship is at the heart of his research. He was awarded an EPSRC Fellowship (£2.1 m) to develop new compositions using artificial intelligence and novel processing routes for thermal barrier coatings, environmental barrier coatings, wear-resistant coatings, corrosion-resistant coatings, insulating coatings and functional coatings for electrification.
