RESEARCH PROJECT
DC1
Structural materials for high field magnet production
Objective
- To establish the relation between powder characteristics, process parameters and mechanical and electrical conductivity
- To develop a predictive model for the mechanical performance and electrical conductivity of CS deposits
Expected Results
- Correlation between the process parameters and deposited bulk materials’ performance
- Defined new alloys for CS deposits to be used in severe application (high stress/high flux)
- Validation of optimized process on simple geometries for basic knowledge to develop methodologies for AM of complex shapes
Enrollment
UTBM, PhD programme Pôle Industrie 4.0- ICB-PMDM-LERMPS (involved in ICB Lab of CNRS)
Planned Secondment
- UoN (A), Prof. T. Hussain, Month 13 (2) powder treatment and Month 20 (2) build-up residual stress measurement
- UB (A), Prof. Cano, Month 28 (4) mechanical characterization of the deposits
